Role: Lead Experiential Designer

We were tasked to create an epic announcement event for MK11 that energized fans for the action to come in 2019 while paying homage to one of the world’s most iconic fighting franchises.

Giant Spoon and WBIE transformed a marketplace in LA’s Koreatown into the dark, underbelly of the Mortal Kombat universe. The experience kicked off with a global livestream with the legendary MK creator Ed Boon, and a special appearance by professional MMA fighter (and new Mortal Kombat 11 talent), Ronda Rousey.

The completely immersive environment included a Black Market Alley where fans could get tattoos from Mister Cartoon, unleash on rage grounds, take a Fatality photo, purchase limited merch, be the first to play demos of Mortal Kombat 11, and more.
